Review: Kiss of Death (The Morganville Vampires #8) by Rachel Caine

Kiss Of Death (The Morganville Vampires, #8)Kiss Of Death by Rachel Caine
Goodreads summary:
Vampire musician Michael Glass has attracted the attention of a big- time producer who wants to cut a demo and play some gigs-which means Michael will have to enter the human world. For this, he's been assigned escorts that include both a dangerous immortal as well as Michael's all-too-human friends. And with that mix of personalities, this is going to be a road trip from hell..

You can purchase the book from: The Book Depository.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

My thoughts and mostly ramblings about this one... maybe even some spoilers.. sorry!

Wow I now I've said that previous books have been different but this just has little to do with what we know.

It is a totally different settings and the story is of a road trip gone bad. Why I thought that things would go better than usual and I was really surprised by most of the things that happened. I mean there were very unexpected things....

More and more, Claire grows to be someone we don't know. She's more fierce than ever and she stands up to vampires when even Shane shuts up and stays quiet. I never thought she'll grow so much that she'd make Oliver laugh and would have such interesting chats with the vampires but as Amelie's pet(which she is not anymore.. well kinda..)she got closer to the vampires than she ever expected. She got to know them, or at least some of their sides(some good and some bad).

I really like that about her and I kind of see her as a vampire maybe somewhere in the far future. Also it gives us a better view of the vampires, different from those we get from Shane and Eve. I know they have had a harder time and more experience but Clare sees them more clearly and she sees the good in them no matter how deep that good part of them is!

I missed Myrnin in this book because he was there only at the beginning and then he was left behind. I can't wait to read the next book to see him again.

We saw a different side of Oliver. He wasn't exactly nice but he was there when he was most needed and I really enjoyed reading those parts. I don't know if he's going to go back to being an ass when they all go back to Morganville but I really liked reading about him in this book.

Like I said earlier( or more like rambled) the book has some very unexpected moments and it's not like and attack from a vamp in a dark alley.. It's an attack but you'll never see it coming or at least I didn't!

I will stop now because I already said too much. I hope I haven't spoiled the fun out of reading the book because that was was really good and it is definitely something new.

I forgot to mention Michael.. Oh I love this one. Always there when you need him looking like and avenging angel with fangs.. He and Shane are awesome in their roles and boyfriends even though there were some bumps along the way but hey where is the fun in a unnaturally perfect relationship.

Oh okay, I'll leave you to the book now. I loved it and I think that it's going to be liked by the Morganville Vampires' fans...

I just love the cover way too much to re-size the photo...!
