Adult Review: Connected (Connections, #1) by Kim Karr

This book is suitable for Adult readers!!!

Goodread summary:
What if a ‘Once in a Lifetime’ could happen twice?

Suffering from a past full of tragedy, Dahlia London's soul has been left completely shattered. Happily ever after is a far cry from reality in her world. But, when she is reconnected with her past, the bonds that form are irrefutable.

When River Wilde, lead singer of The Wilde Ones, comes back into Dahlia’s life, the intensity that fires their relationship combined with underlying feelings that have never died lead her to believe she has met her soulmate.

Struggling with confusion as old connections fade and new ones begin, Dahlia's grief begins to lift--but guilt remains. River wants to be the one to mend all that is torn within her.

But with a past that is never really gone, can their future survive?

I have a bad feeling that my reviews keep disappearing because I'm pretty sure I already wrote a review for this one.

“There is something beautiful about each and every scar we bear no matter where it comes from.”

I remember the book because I absolutely loved it. It was interesting, intense and nerve-racking. I loved how it made me feel, I was constantly at the edge of my seat and I couldn't stop reading it.
I can't go into detail right now because it has been a while but I remember the highlights of the story and it was awesome.
The end was quite the cliff hanger... After a whole book of Dahlia telling us how perfect her fiancee, Ben, was and how strong their relationship was to find out what he did... Unbelievable.

“I suddenly realize that finding my past in pieces has actually brought me closer to my future.”

Dahl is an incredibly strong character. I admired her because all her life things were taken away from her but she keeps fighting and she always came up on top. Fights her parents and her aunt were killed in a plane crash, thank she had to move in with her uncle that wasn't really fit to be a parent, emotionally at least, and the only good thing left in her life was Ben.
Best friends since they were little, he was the only constant in her life. His family was her family. So losing him felt like the last straw.
I really don't know how she survived that one. How she found the strength to keep going, is still beyond me because it was painful to read about it, let alone live through it...

“How could love at first sight even exist when you were already in love with someone else?”

Meeting River Wild for the first time was... well a flirt she liked to think about but it was all just a fantasy and not really serious because she had Ben.
Meeting River Wild for the second time... well that was the life boat she needed to survive.
They had a very strong connection the very first time they saw each other and the second time that connection was just as strong.

“I swear I won’t stop until your legs are shaking and every hotel guest on this floor knows my name.”

He was the bad boy, the rock star... An amazing man that fell in love with her and he was there for her when it counted but is it enough to survive the shock that follows the end of the book...
Ohh I already know the answer but I was nerve-wrecked when I was reading the book for the first time. It was unbelievable and I loved every second of it.
One of my favorite books for the year!

 I give it:
