Adult: Rock Chick Rescue (Rock Chick, #2) by Kristen Ashley

This book is suitable for Adult readers!!!

Goodread summary:
Jet McAlister has a secret. Eddie Chavez has the hots for Jet (not to mention Eddie’s just plain hot). Jet has too many problems to realize that Eddie’s interested. Eddie loses patience when Jet ends her waitressing shift at a strip club with a knife at her throat. Since Eddie’s a cop, he figures he can help. Since Jet’s used to solving everyone’s problems she doesn’t want Eddie’s help.

Throw in a Dolly Parton look-alike, a gruff but lovable strip club owner, Jet’s ne’er do well father, his ne’er do well friend, Bear, Bear’s long-suffering, chain-smoking wife Lavonne and the crew from Rock Chick and you’ve got Rock Chick Rescue.

Rock Chick Rescue takes you on a wild ride with Jet, Eddie and the gang as they wrestle bad guys in a bagel shop, hit Denver’s backstreet poker tables (with big hair), and help the strippers at Smithie’s take down a would-be murderer.

Through this, Jet’s got to learn that even when life made you give up your dreams, you can still end up with the (hot) guy. Eddie’s got to rescue Jet from a bad man (so he can do better things with her) and teach her that some dreams can come true.

Oh wow. I was wondering why everyone was so crazy about this series but with every next book I figure it out more and more. It is so addictive. It can be a little over the top but it is absolutely amazing! I loved this story. It was fun!

“We almost couldn’t fit all of our hair into the car, but luckily we were wearing fewer clothes so it balanced out.”

It was action-packed and it was stressful for the characters but it was so much fun at times. The crazy people that are around the main characters are awesome and then the main characters were absolutely AWESOME!

“Everyone's got their hands out waitin' for you to take one. You gotta learn when to take someone's hand before you fall.”

I loved everything. The story is incredibly interesting and it is not only about the main characters but it's also a continuation of the previous story and it's awesome to include everyone.
Okay, so, this book focuses on Jet (I forgot her full name and it has nothing to do with Jet, I think it was Henrietta or something like that but it was used like once or twice so it's not as important.. by her own words she is just Jet!) and Eddie Chavez (Mmmm!).

Jet is shy and she is so sure that she is plain and simple. She has no self esteem and a shitload of trouble to deal with all on her own. She is the new addition to Fortnum's and she is slowly becoming part of the family. She only has one little problem. She can't really function around hot guys and as you can probably guess that causes some pretty interesting situations.

“It was like the Justice League of Super Heroes but instead it was the Justice League of Hot Guys.”

And she is the receiver of Eddie's special attention which is like her personal torture because she is pretty infatuated with him. Eddie is persistent. He obviously likes Jet but she is stubborn and her fight or flight instinct is almost always stuck on flight when he is concerned. She is afraid of him and what he could do to her if she lets him into her heart but he is not taking no for an answer.

As you can imagine they have this dance for a while and I gotta tell you, it was entertaining to watch. You can literally feel the moment Eddie goes too far and she just retreats into her shell but he is relentless and he kept at it. I was rooting for him because he was really working hard here and Jet, well she is a Rock Chick and she has the idea that she has to take care of anything by herself. However she now has all these people around her that care and want to help. Enter Indy and Ally and Tex in the mix and you have drama and a lot of it.

The story is really awesome. It was interesting and it was with a really good pace. Things were always happening but they always managed to slow down for a heated argument between Jet and Eddie.
I really loved reading it because it involves so many people. I liked the main characters and I liked the back story and now I just need more. I am really looking forward to reading the next book in the series and seeing another side of Hank Nightingale.

 I give it:
