Adult Review: Rock Chick Revolution (Rock Chick #8) by Kristen Ashley

This book is suitable for Adult readers!!!

Goodread summary:
Ally Nightingale has secrets. Secrets she doesn't even share with the Rock Chicks. But two men know what she's up to. One has her back. The other has her heart, but he doesn't know it.

As Ally rewinds the last year of her life, she knows two things. One, she’s never going to get what every Rock Chick should have—her own Hot Bunch guy. And two, she’s a Nightingale through and through. She just isn’t sure what to do about that.

But as her secrets are revealed, the men in her life react. Darius Tucker, a lifelong friend, as usual takes her back. Ren Zano, the man she loves, isn’t quite so sure. The Rock Chicks, Hot Bunch and the entire gang at Fortnum’s weigh in, and a Rock Chick Revolution starts brewing.

It’s up to Ally to control it and prove what she knows down to her bones.

She’s a Rock Chick, she deserves her hot guy and she’s going to keep the one she wants…

Because she’s a Nightingale.

It was the perfect ending for a nearly perfect series!
The book we've all been waiting for and it was BRILLIANT!

“I give you the sign, you move in.”
“What’s the sign?’ Mace pushed.
“I was thinking a rain dance on the front lawn. That work for you?” I replied snottily.”

What else could I say really? It was everything the previous books were but more evolved. Yeah, it was Ally's book and she was the most serious of all the Rock Chicks if you can believe me!

I couldn't believe it myself because we all know Ally. We were there for everything she was up to during the first book (she was kind of most active there) but we were also there to witness the encouraging replies and the demanding of information from all the other Rock Chicks and all that time she was keeping so many secrets. I didn't see it coming.
And from all the Rock Chicks, aside from the year of pretending to be fuck-buddies, Ally's relationship with Ren was the most stable one in terms of commitment and expression of emotions.

“No, baby , we are not. I’ve had fuck buddies, Ally. And not one of them looked like you look when I slide inside you, every fucking time I slide inside you. Like a piece of you has been lost and now it’s found.”
Oh crap.
I probably looked just like that.”

They had a year to be close even though Ally would deny it repeatedly so their relationship was the only one in the group that progressed slightly like a normal relationship.
But then Ren moved into Italian American badass mode so there was that. It was lovely really.
How open they were with each other and how they each considered the other's feelings. It was beautiful to see them interact.

“Everything you do, what you eat, what you drink, how you live, how you love, how you work, all of it runs deep. You give it everything. It means everything to you.” His hand suddenly caught mine that was resting on my thigh and he gave it a squeeze. “Come here, baby.”
I bent to him and his hand went to the small of my back, sliding up my spine and into my hair.
“Teach that to our kids, will you?”

The passion was there but there was also understanding and a lot less bossing around and nearly no demands thrown around for a good measure. They actually acted like a normal couple and that was most shocking of all because it was ALLY! Of all people, I expected her story to be the wildest.

What it was however, was serious and to the point. There was drama but it was also contained and not out of control. There were a lot of interesting stuff happening but the pace was significantly slower and the shocks were few and far in between. It was proof that things were settling down for the characters and that was good. Each got their dose of excitement but they were evolving into something quite awesome and I loved it more than anything.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was over before I knew it and it means the end of and era but it was beautiful and amazing and I'm glad that the series got such a strong end. I'm happy!

Excerpt:

By the time we reached the hallway in my building, all awkwardness was gone and we were laughing and joking.
“Thanks for the help. If I fail another test, I’m gonna kill myself.”

He rolled his eyes. “Oh please, you’re such a drama queen.”
“Am not!” I swatted at him playfully, but he skillfully dodged me.
Out of the corner of my eye, I glimpsed a ginormous, skeevy monster dash out from under a door. With its beady eyes and giant wings, it was raging at me, fists flying.
“Ah! Oh my God!” I yelped. Before I could think better of it, I jumped up and wrapped my legs around Blake’s waist, nearly strangling him with my arms. “Kill it, kill it, kill it!”
He secured me by my waist and spun around. In every attempt to keep my eyes on the ferocious beast, my head flew to the right and left as he swirled and whirled, trying to see past me to the ground.

“Calm down, it’s only a water bug, sissy girl,” he said through his laughs.
I didn’t care. “Come on! Get it!” I screamed.
He twisted, maneuvering me on his hips, stomping his foot, trying to extinguish the hideous demon. I shrieked into his chest. My body was jolted and shaken, flying from side to side as Blake danced a jig, thrashing madly.
As the pounding died down, awareness prickled up my body. I suddenly realized the severity of what I’d done. My face was buried in the soft hardness of his chest, feeling his heart beat against my cheek with each rise and fall. My nose taking in the scent that was just…Blake. My hands were buried in the hair at the back of his head, and my legs securely wrapped around his…

Oh my God!
I could feel his appreciation of me spearing me in my girl parts. The skirt I’d decided to wear did nothing to create a shield against his prodding tip. It tantalized me, teasing me, begging to be set free and touch me without any barriers. Of its own free will, my body opened up to him, welcoming him. Telling him to come inside and take a seat, stay for a cup of tea. The feeling was so strong, I was nervous I’d leave evidence of my own appreciation on his clothes through my thin undergarments.
Feeling him nuzzle his nose on the top of my head, all movement ceased, other than his chest still heaving from exertion. At least, I thought it was still exertion.
My voice was muffled in the peaks of his chest. “Is it dead?”
“Yes, you’re safe.” He smoothed his hand down the length of my hair, keeping me tightly clasped with the other.

I lifted my head, then immediately regretted it. Our faces were so close, I could see flecks of white mingled into his blue eyes. They flicked to my lips and he took a deep, long swallow, then his gaze moved back to my eyes, seeking approval. The tension in the air was massive, the pull to each other fierce. It would be so easy to give in to what we both knew we wanted, what we craved. My stubbornness was the only obstacle.
Abruptly, I wiggled and unhinged my legs, signaling he should set me free, but his grip tightened, preventing me from hopping off. The corner of his mouth raised and he slid me down excruciatingly slow, my body pinned to the front of his, dragging down his length, feeling every—every—bit of his…length.
Fuck.

As I traveled down, his hands traveled up, feeling each curve of my body, and coming to rest on my shoulders. I swallowed hard and realized my hands were still rooted deep into his hair. That as much as I was trying to tell my body to relinquish him, it was grasping at straws, defying me.

I uncurled my fingers, one at a time and dropped my hands to my sides, willing him to do the same. Realizing this would not be the time, a look of disappointment came over him. He dropped his arms but didn’t back away.
“See. Drama queen.” His voice was gentle now.
I smiled weakly. “Shut up.”
“Shut me up.” Typically his eyes were wicked when he said things like that, but right now they were devoid of any humor. Longing and desire replaced his usual snarky confidence.
Seeing another notch in my already strained resolve break away, he moved closer, closing the small gap that remained between us. “Shut me up, Angel.” He brushed the pad of his thumb over my lower lip. “I dare you.”
My body was in flames. It took everything I had not to jump back into his arms and burrow into his pores. But I couldn’t do that to him; he was too important. I looked at him, trying to think of a witty response, but came up empty.
In truth, that was all I really wanted to do anyway. Catch his bottom lip between my teeth and slide my tongue over his. Learn the curves of his mouth from the inside out.
“It’s impossible to shut you up. I learned that already.” It was a struggle to get the words out when I could smell the mint on his breath. His proximity made the hairs on my entire body stand at attention, and they all seemed to be bending toward his electric current.
“Try me.” He hooked his hands underneath my arms and slowly lifted me back up effortlessly so we were eye level again. “Wrap your legs around me.”

I did as he said.

My body was aching to please him. To feel him. To surround him and be consumed by him.

He kept one arm securely fastened around my waist and buried the other in my hair before bringing his nose to the sensitive flesh beneath my ear. “God, you feel so good wrapped around me. You were meant to be where you are right now. Do you feel that?” He pressed his chest tightly against mine, and our hearts beat against each others in rhythmic thumps. Aching to get to one another and finally mesh into their other half.

I licked my lips and nodded. I couldn’t deny it.

His gorgeous blues followed the trail of my tongue. “You kill me when you do that.” He brought the pad of his thumb to the glistening trail, yearning in his eyes.

“Sorry.”

“Don’t ever be sorry to me. You have nothing to be sorry for. But I do suggest you refrain from any gestures involving this mouth.” He tugged at my bottom lip while staring at me with a fierce, carnal longing to claim me once and for all.

He saw the desperate look in my eyes, the shattering of my resolve. The aching desire and need coiling and twisting like a wicked little tornado. “Tell me it’s okay, Angel. Tell me what you want me to do. That you want this as badly as I do.”

“I can’t,” I panted out my words in forced gasps, my eyes watering under the pressure of trying to keep it contained.

“Why not? Tell me why not. What’re you doing to us?”
I cupped the side of his face. “You’re a beautiful soul, Blake. I don’t want to ruin that. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself. You’re too good for me. I don’t want you to feel the anguish I go through every day. It isn’t right to drag you into that.” I blinked as the tears swelled over my bottom lids and trailed down my cheeks.

“It’s too late. I’m already there, baby. Can’t you see that? I’m not scared, and I’m not running. I’m right there along with you, whether you want me to be or not. When you hurt, I hurt. You reside right here.” He took the hand still blanketing his cheek and placed it to the center of his chest, each pulse reaching out to touch me.

“You’ve taken up permanent residency. Give it to me. Let me take it away from you. Protect you. Be with me and I swear, you won’t hurt anymore.”

His words wrapped around my heart and clenched. Helping it beat in its weakened state. I wanted so badly to believe I could do this. To believe it would be okay. That I wouldn’t destroy him.

“Just be sure when this happens, you’re ready because you’ll be mine from that moment forward. I don’t intend on letting you go—ever.” He slid one finger under my chin and lifted my tear-stained gaze to his. “Be with me, Angel. Be mine. Be my forever.”
My insides shook violently. My whole body went numb, both unfeeling and feeling everything at the same time. All I had to do was say yes.

Three little letters.

One word.

Yes.

Book Blitz: Too Many Rock Stars (Access All Areas, #1) by Candy J.Starr + Excerpt and Giveaway

This is a Book Blitz post about the book Too Many Rock Stars by Candy J.Starr. There's an excerpt and an INTERNATIONAL giveaway below so check it out and you just might like it.

Title: Too Many Rock Stars
Series: Access All Areas
Author: Candy J. Starr
Genre: New Adult, Romance
Publication date: October 30th 2015
Goodreads link: Click here!
Purchase links: Amazon, B&N
Synopsis(provided by the author):
I don’t date rockers. Don’t sleep with them. Don’t even swap spit. I’ve been working as a band booker at Trouble — the coolest indie rock club in town — long enough to know what a bunch of screwed up, egotistical jerks they are. Some of them might seem okay at first but that’s just because they’ve learned

to hide it better than others.
That would be fine if Razer didn’t keep popping into my office, making himself so annoyingly attractive. And he only gets more insistent when the leather-clad Alex hits town.
While they compete for both rock glory and my affection, I get stuck in the middle but all I really want to do is save my job and the club.
That’s the trouble with my life: too many rock stars.

Meet the Author

Candy J. Starr used to be a band manager until she realised that the band she managed was so lacking in charisma that they actually sucked the charisma out of any room they played. "Screw you," she said, leaving them to wallow in obscurity - totally forgetting that they owed her big bucks for video equipment hire.

Candy has filmed and interviewed some big names in the rock business, and a lot of small ones. She's seen the dirty little secrets that go on in the back rooms of band venues. She's seen the ugly side of rock and the very pretty one.

But, of course, everything she writes is fiction.

Excerpt:

From off stage, a screech of guitar rang out. The cheers started, like a wall of crazy anticipation. Then Alex appeared, flooded in red light like something preternatural. Cheers turned to screams, high pitched squeals, as every woman in the room imagined unwrapping the present in those skin-tight pants.
"I'd do him," Carlie said. "Well, if you don't want him."
As the full band burst into noise, I couldn't answer her. This was amazing. Chills ran down my spine just with the way he worked that guitar. Carlie gripped my arm, jumping up and down. I pulled ahead, pushing for the front. No point standing back being cool. I wanted to be part of this. Alex swelled and took up all the oxygen in the room. It was like we were breathing him in and he was becoming part of us.
For all his crazed perfectionism, he was a god up there. A leather-clad god with jet black hair, dominating the stage. Taking every single person into the palm of his hand and squeezing every drop of emotion from them.
"Holy shit," Carlie screamed.
We got buffeted by the crowd until we reached a spot near the stage, just as Alex went into that slow, tear-jerker song that got everyone right in their heart. His soulful eyes swept the crowd and I swear one girl at least fainted, then they settled on me. I held my breath wondering if he could actually see me in this crowd. For that moment, I wanted him to see me, for his eyes to be for me alone.
Something larger than life was happening up there on stage and down amongst the crowd. This was a band that was going places, much bigger places than our little club, that's for sure. Alex had star quality and he had the brains to back it up. At times, you could see that brain ticking over. The way he'd seek out someone in the crowd and let his gaze linger there a moment too long, or the way a song would build up and then he'd pull it back, keeping the crowd on edge. That edge of calculation was always going on, manipulating every thread of emotion.
Of course, most people didn't notice that, they were happy to be swept up in the game he played without thinking about it too much but, for me, the stakes were higher than most.
I spend the rest of the set in a daze, not knowing what he'd do next. He finished up, sweat drenched in a way that made every woman want to be his towel, and his eyes sparkling with a light to dazzle the world.
Carlie grabbed my hand for the last song. I knew without her saying, she didn't want this to be the last song. She didn't want it to end.
Then, finally, silence.
We walked to the bar, not saying a word. Everyone else seemed to have the same idea.
"We're never going to get a drink here, let's go downstairs."
"What the hell was that?" Carlie said. "That wasn't human."
"I know."
"I guess that settles things. You aren't even going to look at Razer after that."
I wondered. Alex was amazing. More than amazing. He'd done things to me, to my body, that no one had ever done before with just his voice, but that was him there on stage and me in the audience. That wasn't flesh and blood him, everyday him, who you'd wake up to every morning. Alex was made to perform. He became another person on stage. Is that really what I wanted?
"How was he?" Drew asked when we got downstairs.
"There are no words," Carlie replied. "He was amazing. Hey, Mark, a couple of vodkas over here if you don't mind?"
Mark got our drinks and slapped them down in front of us. "I'm going on break," he said. "You cover me."
Carlie sipped her drink then slowly got up.
"Bastard," she said. "He could've let me finish my drink. What the hell would he do if I didn’t come in here on my night off?"
I sat alone thinking about the night and this stupid competition. Alex was dazzling and we had so much in common. He definitely had the numbers. Razer would have to work like hell to beat him. If I was going to date a rocker, then Alex was the rational choice. The two of us together, we'd work. While Razer, that was just chaos waiting to happen.
I just needed to convince my heart that common sense was best.

Adult Review: Rock Chick Regret (Rock Chick #7) by Kristen Ashley

This book is suitable for Adult readers!!!

Goodread summary:
Sadie Townsend is known by all as The Ice Princess and she’s worked hard to earn her reputation. Her father, a now-incarcerated Drug Lord, has kept her under his thumb her whole life and she’s learned enough from living in his world to give everyone the cold shoulder. But one inebriated night, she shows the Real Sadie to the undercover agent she knows is investigating her father, the handsome Hector Chavez, and he knows he’ll stop at nothing to have her.

Hector makes one (huge) mistake; he waits for Sadie to come to him. Tragedy strikes and Sadie’s got a choice, she can retreat behind her Ice Fortress or she can embrace the Rock Chick/Hot Bunch World. Guided by Hector, the Rock Chicks, the Hot Bunch and her new gay roommates, Buddy and Ralphie, Sadie negotiates a life out from under her father’s thumb, a life that includes poison, arson and learning how to make s’mores.

This is a beautiful story filled with horror and sorrow, but also with love, passion and happiness to be around people that love you.

“And you think you can help me find my way?”
He shook his head, his eyes went warm and I got another neck squeeze, coupled with a tightening of his arm around my waist. “Mamita, only you can find your way. I just wanna be along for the ride.”

I was stunned by the way the book started. Never in the history of the Rock Chicks has something so brutal happened and so early in the book. I was shocked and my heart was breaking for a character I don't know but one that I wanted to get to know.

I stopped myself from swallowing and, as per normal (as I'd had loads of practice), I walked, back ramrod straight, chin up, one foot in front of the other (like I learned in deportment classes) to the dest.
“Hello, I'm Sadie Townsend. I have an appointment with Liam Nightingale,

First impression of Sadie while she was at Lee's office was kind of weird because she was acting like her Ice Princess self but her mind was going a mile a minute. She hid so well behind her mask and that takes strength.
Growing up alone like she did even tough in a mansion with guards and helpers, she felt utterly alone and that will turn anyone hard. Sadie however has that sweet, good person buried somewhere deep beneath the ice and with every new encounter between her and Hector, that Nice Sadie began to unfreeze and take charge.

“Don’t you dare waltz uninvited into my gallery and disrespect me, my friends and my boyfriend. You do it again, I’ll drag you out of here by your hair. Got me?”

It was beautiful to see Sadie progress like that. She was cold to everyone the first time we met her and then she was bloody and nearly broken the second time we met her. It is quite the leap and she needed to find her balance between the two so she can finally move on and become an extraordinary, feisty lady.
Everyone compared her to a fairy princess but to be she kind of resembled a small child and in some aspects she was just that. As a child grows surrounded with love and laughter it can become it's own person and blossom but for Sadie that process stopped a long time ago and now she just resumed her position of a growing child in the sense of being with family. The smallest things will make her happy. Manual labor seems to be a favorite for her (she is a bit of a nut). And the smallest gestures of kindness seemed like the most amazing gift she has ever received.
I loved her character so much and I'm so glad we got to meet her.
And then there's Hector. Well he is one of the Hot Bunch and is a pretty hotheaded Mexican-American Macho-Man (quoting from somewhere in the book).

“His arm did a squeeze and his voice got softer. “I’m thinkin’ you need more time to get used to me. I’m okay with that, Mamita, take all the time you need.”

He had to take his time because the trauma Sadie went through didn't allow for him to swoop in and save the day right away so this is probably the most normal relationship in sense of time when it comes to these people. But once he decided Sadie was healed, all bets were off and it was glorious.
I loved it and I loved him. He is learning how to be with Sadie because she can trow attitude as good as any Rock Chick and she is very creative with getting what she wants. There will be problems along the way, these two will clash but it's going to be more entertaining than anything.
I really enjoyed this one. It was a pretty awesome continuation of the previous storied and an elaborate new love story and took my breath away. I loved it! The only bad thing about it really is that is almost the end of the series and I don't think I can handle that.

Mace finds he doesn’t like it much that his ex-girlfriend got shot right in front of him but it’s worse. A very bad man has thrown down the gauntlet and all the Rock Chicks are in the firing line.  Spoilers!
I would give it 10 AWESOME Rock Chick stars if I could but sadly 5 is all I can do! Absolutely amazing!
OMG!
I can't even begin to tell you how awesome this book was. I don't know how to begin to explain all the shit that went down this time.
Okay let's start with Stella Gunn. Our newest Rock Chick that is actually kind of an old Rock Chick because she is a friend of Indy and Ally and she has already dated Mace but then he broke it off. So now we get to see someone who doesn't go from 0 to 60 in 2 seconds flat when it comes to a relationship. Stella and Mace actually knew each other for a while before Indy's story began and they were together so they already had a connection and a history but things weren't easy for them.

“One thing you can say, Stella Gunn," Dixon remarked, now his mouth was twitching " You're pure, fuckin' rock 'n' roll.”

Stella barely got her life together after Mace left her. She has her band and her music and her huge, adorable dog, so they were quite enough to keep her busy. And she is a very strong character that made things really interesting.
However the newest drama surrounding the characters is directed at all the Rock Chicks and has finally caught the attention of the press.

It's sufficed to say that things got out of hand fast and hard and as the bullets were flying, the grenades were exploding and the fights were raging on we got to witness a beautiful relationship begin anew and flourish into the steady love story it was supposed to be.
It was precious!

I absolutely loved Stella but this book was my favorite mainly because of Mace. There is something incredibly sexy about a man that can hardly control his rage when it's directed at people trying to hurt the woman he loves. There was this line that Mace said... “She gets hurt, any of them gets hurt, I go maverick. You understand me?” This enough had me.. I don't know how to explain what that line did to me. I loved it!

“I fucked up and hurt you. It won't happen again.” His fingers tensed around my head and his deep voice dropped low. “I promise you, Kitten, it won't happen again.”

Mace is just so awesome. I know I've said that for most of the characters but I really think Mace is my favorite and then Vance... oh I loved Vance too but lets not get carried away.
There were little things that happened and then there were huge things that happened like the wedding that we've all been waiting for. Also there were different P.O.V and I loved that! I know this was introduced in the previous book but this time it was a lot more and we got to see things from different perspectives.

I loved absolutely every single part of this book. It was kind of weird seeing the P.O.Vs from the previous characters because I was kind of in sync with Stella and Mace but it was also kind of awesome because we got to see them again when they have settled a little bit into their respective relationships.

And now to go back to Mace... Oww! I am just starstruck and I was freaking out when it was a Mace P.O.V. There weren't nearly enough of those as I might have liked but it was pretty awesome what little we got.

“I’m sorry I fought you, Mace,” I whispered. “But now that you’re mine again, I’m never going to let you go.”

The Epilogue kind of freaked me out a bit because I know there are two more books after this and I was surprised to see the HEAs now but I enjoyed it a lot so I got over my freak out and started writing down all the names to all the kiddos and it was perfect!

Read it! This is the only thing I can say after this incredible book. Read it if you haven't already. It was the best so far!

Who says a wild heart can’t be tamed?
For years, I lived for the job and let it control me. Violence was all I knew. I protected, killed, and served. My name is Blake Evans, one of the best undercover cops in the country. I thought I was about to live a quiet life on my ranch in Wyoming until an old friend showed up and changed everything. He brought me her, Hadley Rivers, country music sensation and the one woman I couldn’t have. I didn’t want her but she had me completely roped in.
My job is to protect her, to keep her away from some psycho who wants her for himself. However, there’s more to her story than I was led to believe. I promised to keep her safe and I won’t back down . . . even if I have to die trying. I can’t let him have her.

Excerpt:

Blake was a little ways ahead, but stopped and turned around. “You okay back there, princess?”

I waved him on. “Don’t worry about me!” I shouted. Picking up my pace, I reached down and grabbed a handful of snow. Each step he took, I did double to catch up to him. My fingers were numb from the snow, but I was almost there. Just a few more steps . . .

Blake sidestepped and tackled me out of nowhere, making me scream. His feet slipped and we both fell to the ground, laughing as we rolled around in the snow. He ended up pinning me to the ground, his legs straddling my waist and his body flush with mine. I shivered and it wasn’t because of the snow.

“You should know better than to sneak up on someone like me,” he said. His eyes strayed to my lips.

“I didn’t think you’d hear me,” I whispered breathlessly.

“You’d be surprised what I notice, princess.” He trailed a finger down my cheek to my rapidly beating heart. “Like how your heart is racing right now. I didn’t know I had that effect on you.” I blew out a nervous breath and he smiled, his lips getting closer to mine. “Tell me what you want,” he murmured.

“I can’t.”

“Why?”

“Because once I say the words, I can’t take them back.”

He brought his hands to my face, his thumbs tracing my cheeks. “Maybe this will help.” His lips closed over mine and I melted against him, willingly giving in. I’d never been kissed like that and I didn’t want it to stop. I wanted more. He pushed his tongue inside and I moaned as the heat rose between my legs. Holy hell, I wanted him. Rocking my hips up into him, I dug my nails in his back and he growled, pulling away.

“Fuck, Hadley.”

“What’s wrong?” I asked, breathing hard.

He brushed the hair off my face and kissed me again. “You make me want things I can’t have.”
I nodded. He said exactly what I was thinking. “I know how you feel.”

It's not my most favorite from the series but I still freaking loved it! The main character had her moments to annoy me but my overall opinion of her is that she is great and she is perfect for Luke...

“Ava, you missed it when it happened so I’ll clue you in. Last night, around the time you fell asleep against me, you became mine.”

Lucas Stark had one flaw that is entirely in my head because I don't like mustaches and he had one. It wasn't mentioned a lot so I could simply erase that detail and everything else was perfect, what with his tendency to cuff Ava to the bed and do all kinds of interesting things to her.

“I figured the Nightingale Investigations job application form had the question "Are you hot? Yes. No. If you answered no, please exit the building.”

He is one of the Hot Bunch and he is so what you'd expect... possessive to no end, crazy jealous at times, super hot which put Ava in a haze for like half of the book, and pretty much a fantasy come true. I loved his arrogant behavior and his half-grins and his 'Babe'... seriously that one word said it all.

“You act like a bitch, I’ll call you a bitch and you’re actin’ like a fuckin’ bitch.”

And then there's Ava... She has issues! Both internal and external. She had a nonexistent support system from her mom and two bitch sisters and she has had HORRIBLE luck with guys the last of which actually ripped her off. She also has been in LOVE with Luke since she was eight so that didn't help matters at all. So here she was now, running around town, danger hot on her heels and Luke was there trying to protect her from it all simultaneously fighting each other for control. It was quite the show!

Okay so Ava had problems on a few fronts. There were her feelings for Luke she was fighting... There was Ren, Riley and Dom. There were Dom's problems seeping into her life. And then there was Noah/or whoever he was.. Oh and of course there were the Rock Chicks and their "helpful" input.

 “Babe,” Luke replied.
“I’ve been kidnapped again,” I informed him.

So you can imagine that it was pretty funny to read about all the idiotic things that were done and all the hilarious conversations that had Ava wishing someone would shoot her. There was drama like never before. Fighting, crying, passionate f**king, love making, and all those feelings floating around making things more interesting.

And again as in some of the previous books, there was a heavy portion of back-story weaved into this one and it was awesome. We saw the old favorite characters evolving and changing, things happened that made me incredibly happy and I am more excited than ever! I love it! All of it! It was a pretty awesome book if I do say so myself.
I am really looking forward to reading the next book and I can't wait to see what happens then!

Adult Review: Rock Chick Renegade (Rock Chick #4) by Kristen Ashley

This book is suitable for Adult readers!!!

Goodread summary:
Jules has got a score to settle against the drug dealers of Denver. Vance has made it his mission that Jules won’t get dead while dishing out vigilante justice. Jules doesn’t have time for romance, she’s too busy saving the world and she enlists Zip (the gunstore owner), Heavy (an ex-PI) and Frank (a mysterious recluse) to help.

The Rock Chicks of Fortnum’s Bookstore get involved to provide romantic advice and guidance, none of which Jules accepts at first. The Hot Bunch of Nightingale Investigations adopt Jules as one of their own. Even though Jules tries to hang on to her inner Head Crackin’ Mamma Jamma, the Rock Chicks; Hot Bunch; Jules’s long-suffering Uncle Nick; Jules’s friend the rotund, African-American, Jackie-O wannabe, May; and especially Vance will stop at nothing to wear her down.

But Jules makes some bad guys pretty angry and one is dedicated to taking her out. Vance and the Hot Bunch have to pull out all the stops to keep her alive. At the same time, Jules and Vance learn the true meaning of home but once they find this precious entity they’ve been searching for all their lives, will Jules’s enemies tear it away?

I want to unread this so I can read it for the first time all over again! No, seriously! I want to be able to read this for the first time again because it was so freaking awesome!
I just know that all the books are going to be great after this one because they have gotten better and better with every next installment.

“If someone like you, someone as unbelievably beautiful as you, as crazy and sweet as you, filled with attitude and courage with her heart in the right place, in a lot of right places even though her head normally isn’t… if someone like you shares her bed with me, then that says something about me.”

I am crazy for Vance. I don't know why.. Of course there are the obvious reasons like he is extremely hot and awesome badass but there is something else about him. He has a way with words that makes me melt. And that quiet part that unravels you by just looking at you. I want that IRL. I just loved him from the second I met him and I was extremely happy to read his book.

“She’s a badass motherf**keress. She’d kick your ass soon as look at you. You’ve clapped your eyes on The Law. Count yourself lucky, sucker. Now, what’ll it f**kin’be?”

And Jules or Law.. well she is just as badass as Vance is. She was actually accepted as one of the boys because she is smart when she fights. She was included in so much more than any of the other girls were and she deserved it. She was a kick-ass character and I loved her for it. In her everyday life as a Social worker and in her night life as a vigilante hell bent on running off the drug dealers of Denver. She proved time and time again that she was smart about the decision she was making. Yeah she had her girly moments but she is entitled to those as she is, in fact, a girl.

I loved the side characters here as well but what I loved more were the new additions. Roam and Sniff. I just loved those two and I'm happy that they became a part of the story and that they will be there to stay. I wish we had known Park too because he sounded like one awesome kid but stuff happens for a reason.

Anyway I love every single moment in this book. I loved the anghsty moments between Jules and Vance and I loved the tender moments and I especially loved the passionate moments. Then there were the kicking-ass moments that were in a category of their own.
It was an awesome action-packed story that kind of shifted it's focus from the back story of the other characters to accommodate Law and her special character.

“I think we should break up,” I told him.
“Jesus, you’re a pain in the ass,” he muttered and went back to his book.
“Seriously, Vance.”
“Shut up, Jules,” he said without taking his eyes from his book.”

Anyway, I enjoyed reading this one so much! It was filled with comedy as much as the previous books and I loved that. I love the special connections made between some of the characters and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next.
